As Shaye looked over in the now wheat less, snow covered field, his eyes scanned the perimeter looking for a certain figure. He knew she would be somewhere nearby, practicing her spells and charms; just like the first time they met, that was 10 years ago. He let out a small sigh and was about to jump down from his hiding area until a voice called out to him.

“Akame! Lord Yukimura needs to speak with you. It's urgent!” A young boy yelled out, nearly out of breath. Shaye let out an annoyed sigh and hopped down. Dusting off the fallen snow that had fell on to his shoulders and neck.

“Alright Kai. Start heading back, you'll catch your death out here. I'll be there momentarily.” Shaye responded.
Kai nodded and ran off back to the palace. Shaye glanced back briefly at the frozen field. He shook off the coldness he suddenly felt...which was weird. Demons aren't supposed to feel anything... None the less Shaye quickly made his way back to the palace.

Upon opening the palace doors, Shaye was met with a familiar scent and this feeling of warmth spread throughout his body... Herbs and Cherry Blossoms, it's her. When he figured out where the scent was coming from, there he spotted her. Long black curly hair with bright pink intertwined with it, her slender body draped in a dusty rose kimono, and a headdress adorned her head. She looked lovely, she was sitting next to Lord Yukimura. 'Probably consulting and giving advice...' Shaye thought.

“Ah! Master Akame! I see you have returned to us with no harm done. Scouting went well I assume?” Lord Yukimura questioned and raised an eye brow at Shaye.

“Yes my Lord. No enemy in sight, no plotting yet. All is well.” Shaye replied reassuringly while disguising his actual voice.

Lord Yukimura nodded and then he smirked. “Well then there is nothing to worry about. Akame you are free to go do as you please then. Lady Chidori, you are relived from your duties until further notice.”
Shaye watched Chidori get up and sauntered away. Shaye turned on his heels and walked away from the main hall. He made his way to the edge of the palace, where a forest grew vastly over the years when Shaye arrived here. His footsteps made a light crunch in the snow, while he walked into the dark, twisted forest. Not aware that a certain priestess was tailing him.  After a rather long walk, Shaye found a clearing with a beautiful scenery. It was magnificent! Trees covered in snow, the once babbling brook now slightly frozen, only a few water droplets can be heard. Shaye pushed snow off of a big rock and pulled out a heavy blanket, from his rucksack. He set it down on the rock and was about to sit, then he saw Chidori's shadow.

“You can come out.” He voice rang out, this time clear with emotions. Chidori stepped forward hesitantly before speaking.

“I knew it was you... I didn't recognize your voice at first, but I did with your facial features. You can change everything else but your facial features,” She replied coldly. Shaye noticed her tone and raised an eye brow.

“What are you mad...?” he questioned.

“Yes! I AM mad! You left me alone for 10 years! How in the hell did you think that was a great idea!?” She yelled while sobbing. Shaye looked at her, he could feel her anger. Shaye shook his head and held her.
“Chi-”

“Don't! Just don't! You left me to wonder why you left, it was agonizing! I never got a letter or anything from you! Why!? Why...” Chidori wailed loudly and buried her face on his shoulder while placing her hands on his shirt.

“Because I had to! I had served countless Lords and went on life or death missions. I didn't want you involved... If they were to find out who I was affiliated with they wouldn't even bat an eye and kill you on the spot. I wanted to keep you safe. But apparently I can't do that now... You're already involved.” Shaye replied and let out a sigh. Chidori gripped his shirt tighter and let out a shaky breath.

“Yes, I am involved. Only because I had hoped to see you again somewhere. Yes it was a stupid decision, but I only did it for you. But just so you know, I will not quit now, I've come too far in all these politics and wars. I was blinded by trying to find you and not focusing on the world around me. Now I see and I want to help everyone just as bad as the next person.” She retorted.

Shaye smirked and stroked her hair. “I knew you had a better reason than looking for me. And I'm glad, there were times I wanted to send you a letter and ask how you were. But it was too risky. So I waited patiently, for 10 years.” Shaye responded.  Chidori nodded, understanding the dire consequences if someone were to find out who the letter was from and to. They stayed there for another hour or so, basking in the silence and the snow fall.

“Shaye? How many other names do you go by...?” Chidori asked while cuddling into him.

“It's a long story, you're also not to tell Lord Yukimura my actual name...” Shaye chuckled and told her the story of why he needed different names. One of which consisted of him dressing up as geisha.
Shaye has served countless Lords. Faked countless deaths and names, bided his time and silently waited for the right moment to see Chidori. It's been 10 years since Shaye left without a word and Chidori was left in agonizing pain.
